Hurricane IRMA Evacuation Update: 9/14  5:00 pm

Great news!  It is time to come on home.  Our campus was graciously spared from Hurricane Irma, and we sustained only minor water intrusion and landscaping damage.  The groups that evacuated to Charlotte, Greenville, and Tega Cay have all arrived safely back home this afternoon.

Hurricane IRMA Evacuation Update: 9/13  6:30 pm

The Cypress of Hilton Head evacuated our community in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Irma.  As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the Governor has lifted the evacuation order for our community and Mayor Bennet simultaneously granted re-entry to the Island. We are actively communicating with all key team members to make preparations for our return home.  Crews are onsite at the community and clean up has begun.

Great news!  Our campus had minimal to no damage from Hurricane Irma and residents will return home starting on Thursday.  We never lost power and a few trees came down.  Some flooding in parking lots and in the back of the clubhouse occurred. The Cypress office opened this morning at 9 a.m., however, no services will be available until tomorrow (Thursday). We will open for modified business on Thursday with an evening buffet and normal business resuming on Friday.  Residents who self-evacuated may return to campus on Thursday.  We have been asked to advise that no one return until Thursday.

Residents who have been temporarily residing at the locations listed below will be returning on Thursday with busses scheduled to depart in the morning.

Residents and staff have been comfortably residing at our temporary residences since Friday evening and are eagerly awaiting to hear it is safe to make our way back home.  The addresses and phone numbers of our temporary locations are listed below:

The residents of The Preston Health Center are residing at two locations in South Carolina where they are receiving the attention and care needed to support each person’s health, safety and comfort.  Preston residents at both locations are in good spirits and making the best of a difficult situation – playing games and making new friendships in their homes away from home.  In addition to the numbers listed below, you may also contact Adam Funk, The Preston Health Center Administrator, at 843-422-3481.  Adam is currently staying with residents at Rolling Green Village.
