At The Cypress, we don’t simply hire to fill a position; we seek out individuals who are as passionate about providing excellent service as we are. From the gatehouse to the Preston Health Center and everywhere in between, you will always be greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile. Our staff is our family and in turn a caring and capable extension of yours.

Sandra K. Griffin-Bukoskey, Executive Director

“Sandy” became the Executive Director of The Cypress in August 2012.  Before joining The Cypress, she was the Administrator of The Heritage of Brentwood in Brentwood, Tennessee, Executive Director of Capital Mano in Salem Oregon, Marshes of Skidaway in Savannah, GA and Laurel Crest in Columbia, S.C.  She is licensed as a long-term care administrator in PA, TN and SC.   Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physical Education and Recreation from Lock Haven State College in Lock Haven, PA.  In addition, she has served as Continuing Care Accreditation Commission Evaluator and Continuing Care Accreditation Commission Surveyor.  In accordance with the Club’s management agreement with Life Care Services, Sandy is an employee of Life Care Services.

Rebecca Davis, Sales & Marketing Manager

Originally from Virginia, “Becky” holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research from Virginia Commonwealth University.  A brief period of employment in Fixed Asset Management led to a lifetime career in Continuing Care Retirement.  Becky moved to Hilton Head in 1995 with her son Jack and will be celebrating 20 years with The Cypress in 2015.  Her passions are her son Jack, dog Lucy and partner Howard (not necessarily in that order). The Cypress and its equity model offers the best in lifestyle and financial stability in the continuing care retirement community sector and she is thrilled to be a part of its success.

Tracy Walling, Human Resources Director

Tracy joined The cypress Team in April, 2018.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Vocational and Career Development from Georgia State University in 1990.  She is currently certified through the Society of Human Resource Managers as a SHRM-CP as well as being a member of the organization as well.  Tracy comes to The Cypress with over 25 years of progressive HR experience in many fields including healthcare, senior communities and hospitality.  She also completed Lean six Sigma training at Emory University in 2018. In her spare time Tracy enjoys spending time with her three children and their many pets and getting to know her new home.

Ann Harrison, Home Health & Cypress Clinic Administrator

Ann Harrison has been in nursing since 1981.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ.  She has worked for the Cypress Home Health Agency since 1998 and has been the Administrator since 2006.  She implemented the successful Independent Living Plus program at the Cypress and manages the Cypress Club Clinic.  Ann Harrison lives in Hilton Head Plantation with her husband, two cats and dog.

Susan Lentz, Move-In Coordinator

Susan moved to Hilton Head in 1988 with her husband John and two daughters, Shawna and Erin from North Olmsted, Ohio.  She began working for The Cypress as a concierge and was promoted to work in the Sales and Marketing Department in 1996.  She loves her job helping New Members seamlessly move to The Cypress and working closely with contractors and Cypress staff.  Susan enjoys swimming, gardening and most of all playing with her 4-year-old granddaughter Grady.

Linda Heise, Accounting Director

Linda has been the Accounting Director at the Cypress for 15 years.  Linda came to the Cypress with twenty years of experience in the banking industry.  In anticipation of a move to Hilton Head, Linda studied for and passed the CPA exam.  Originally from Ohio, she has lived in various places following her husband Bob’s Army career. Linda’s undergraduate degree is from Wittenberg University and she received her MBA from Georgia State. In her free time, Linda enjoys running, tennis, kayaking and spending time with her two daughters and grandchildren.

Nona W. Story, Broker in Charge

Nona moved to Hilton Head along with her husband Mike and their two children, Annemarie and Scott in 1977.  In 1990, Nona was the Cypress Move-in-Coordinator and advanced to Sales and Marketing. After working in general real estate throughout the Low Country, Nona returned to The Cypress as a Sales Counselor and Broker-in-Charge.  Nona knows first-hand the benefits & luxury of living at The Cypress since her parents Anne and Lyman Wooster moved to The Cypress in 1994.  Nona loves spending time with her husband, children and 5 grandchildren and of course, her 100-pound Goldendoodle puppy Grover.  Nona’s other talents include needlework and home decorating.

Eric Sayers, Certified Executive Chef

“I’ve taken everything I’ve learned about life and poured it into my food.”

From his first job as a 16 year old busboy in Southbury, CT Eric knew he wanted a career in the culinary arts. An honors graduate of the famed Culinary Institute of America, he moved to Switzerland for further training and to serve as an instructor at the Institute Hotelier Cesar Ritz.

After returning to the US, Eric decided he had enough of winter and set his sights on a more temperate climate. Following a road trip south, he settled on Hilton Head.

Eric established his career locally at CQ’s Restaurant in Sea Pines, where he served as Executive Chef for more than 13 years. At CQ’s, he was recognized locally and nationally by Charleston Gourmet and Hilton Head Monthly for his innovative menus and appeared on Golf with Style with Stephanie Sparks and U Travel with Chef Bob Wagoneer. He was the first chef on Hilton Head to dedicate a commitment to farm-to-table cuisine, focusing on local meats, seafood and produce. CQ’s was named a Platinum Partner for Chef Sayers’ involvement in South Carolina’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative, which promotes the responsible management and consumption of the world’s seafood populations.

Continually furthering his professional career, Chef Eric underwent the rigorous exams by the American Culinary Federation to become a Certified Executive Chef. Completed in late 2013, he continues to pursue his goal of culinary excellence with more classes and training.

Chef Eric was hired as the Executive Chef of The Cypress in 2014 where his past, present and future culinary ambition rises to an incredible dining experience.
