Finding a Balance in Life (when life seems out of balance)
Covid-19 did not come with a playbook on how to keep the “play” in our daily lives, but The Cypress Members have found a way to keep a healthy balance while still abiding by the essential rules of living through a pandemic:
- limiting exposure to others,
- avoiding large groups,
- using the outdoors as much as possible,
- wearing a mask,
- washing hands frequently and
- social distancing.
Members continue to discover enjoyable outlets for exercising their mind, body and soul by taking full advantage of the 100 acres that make up The Cypress campus. The Cypress Club Golf Course and croquet lawn are open for play. The pool is open for individual swim and smaller exercise classes. Limiting the number of Members in the gym has expanded the fitness program. With smaller class sizes, the Cypress Hall is open for yoga and meditation. Not to mention, the pier overlooking the Intra-coastal Waterway and Clubhouse patio are great outdoor areas for safely catching up with friends.
Virtual bingo and Wii Fit Bowling are creative outlets for Members who are getting back to some semblance of normal.
“There are so many things to do to keep us busy. Getting back in the gym too is so exciting,” one Cypress Member enthusiastically explained.
